Lady Saints picked to win the Peach Belt Conference

North Georgia will be tested early and often with matchups against five teams in the preseason top 25 of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll.
The Lady Saints will take on No. 13 Lewis University, No. 22 Alabama-Huntsville and No. 4 Barry University the second week of the season at the UAH Charger Chillout before returning home to play Barry a second time as host of the Captain D's Classic.
North Georgia's Laura Voyles and Courtney McGuire have been named to the 2009 preseason softball Peach Belt Conference All-Conference team.
Voyles was named PBC All-Conference and a third-team All-American last year at second base. Back for her junior year, Voyles was second in the PBC with a .419 batting average and led the team with 67 hits. She also hit six home runs and drove in 26 with a .623 slugging percentage while stealing nine bases.
McGuire, a junior, was named Peach Belt All-Conference and All-Region last year. Hitting .358 with seven home runs and 32 RBI, she led the team and was third in the PBC with a .648 slugging percentage and was also third in the league with 20 doubles.
