Thanksgiving - Nov. 26 this year - a time for us to appreciate what we have and to consume unhealthy amounts of turkey, dressing and pies, isn't a day enjoyed by all because of tough economic times.

To help the families in Dahlonega enjoy the celebration, the NGCSU Chapter of the Georgia Association of Nursing Students is conducting a food drive.

Collection boxes will be placed throughout campus starting Oct. 14. The drive will continue through Oct. 29 when they will be delivered to the Community Helping Place Food Pantry. All donations will be delivered on time for the holiday.

Foods needed include: canned meats (salmon, tuna, chicken), canned soup, spaghetti noodles and sauce, peanut butter and jelly, canned vegetables, fruits, and boxed cereal.
