Traveling back after 2 a.m., many players from the Lady Saints were probably wishing they could have a mulligan on the last week.
The Lady Saints' past two meetings, Saturday versus Columbus State and Wednesday versus Montevallo University both resulted in a loss in the early-goings of Peach Belt Conference play.
On the road this past week, the Lady Saints stopped off in Columbus to face the Lady Cougars. The first half remained close with a three-point difference with CSU on top.
In the beginning minutes of the second half, CSU pulled away and maintained its lead. Turnovers proved to be the culprit for North Georgia with 24 committed to only eight assists leading to the final 86-76.
"We play in a very tough conference where every game will be a battle," head coach Buffie Burson said.
In an attempt to move forward from Saturday, the Lady Saints led at halftime by 10. Stunning the Lady Saints however, was the unanswered 16-point run by the Lady Falcons to begin the second half. Their lead would maintain for the remainder of the match-up ending 70-59.
Even through the past week of losses left North Georgia (1-2) in PBC play, Burson took the best from the games.
"Although I am disappointed in the two losses, I believe our team has gained invaluable experience," Burson said.
The Lady Saints face Lander University this Saturday.
