"Awareness" is the idea behind the group NGCSU Voices for Women.
The group met Thursday and discussed issues such as sex trafficking, body image, and self-esteem.
The group plans to have speakers come to campus to talk on topics of interest to women and show films depicting issues they discuss.
At the Feb. 4 meeting, Michelle Harrison, president of the group, showed a video titled "The Playground," which showed the horrifying truth behind child pornography and trafficking.
Voices for Women has a group on Facebook to inform interested students about the meeting times. The next meeting is scheduled Feb. 18 in Dunlap 205.
Its Web site is http://ngcsuvoicesforwomen.weebly.com/
